76th Independence Day Celebration

August 15, 2022: Freedom mitigates the state of parochialism and provides a wider perspective on the issues of national interests. For a nation as disparate as India, the spirit of patriotism indubitably unifies people of all caste, creed and religion. With an uninhibited exhibition of nationalistic fervour and patriotism, Delhi Public School, Gaya celebrated India’s 76th year of independence on August 15, 2022. The event marked the benign presence of the Chief Guest of the programme, Dr. S Jamal, Principal, Magadh College of Education, Guest of Honour (Special Mention), Mr. Mahesh Mishra, Principal, Kendriya Vidyalaya and Principal, Delhi Public School, Gaya, Mr. Satyendra Mishra. At the outset, the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour were accorded the floral welcome. Marching to the beats of drum, students truly mesmerized the audience during the March Past. After the March Past ceremony, unfurling of the Tricolour followed by the soulful rendition of the National Anthem reinvigorated the spirit of nationalistic pride and patriotism. Principal Sir, in his address, paid obeisance to the martyrs of our motherland who selflessly sacrificed their lives to extricate our nation from the slavery of the British. He also invoked the glorious history of India and exhorted everyone to uphold the sanctity of freedom. Close on the heels of Principal Sir’s speech, a slew of performances riveted the audience. Demonstration of various postures of Yoga with interminable finesse enchanted the audience in the auditorium. Patriotic Group Song presented by the students of classes VI to VIII in Sanskrit filled the auditorium with renewed vigour of patriotism. Enactment of drama with inimitable touch of brilliance, depicting unparalleled valour and sacrifice of Rani Lakshmi Bai and Mangal Pandey for our beloved motherland rekindled the spirit of patriotism in one and all present in the auditorium. The mellifluous rendition of patriotic song by a group of students of classes VI -XII held the audience captive to its harmonious tunes. After the consummation of the cultural extravaganza, all the participants and their mentors were felicitated by the Chief Guest of the event and the Principal, DPS Gaya. Honourable Pro-Vice Chairman Sir, Mr. Sanjeev Kumar and respected Principal Sir paid homage to the great martyrs of our motherland and urged everyone to uphold the spirit of nationalistic pride and patriotism.
